Todd Stern grew up in Chicago, the City of Big Shoulders. It gave him a scrappy leg up when it came to his career as an entertainment attorney representing filmmakers and artists in Los Angeles. While counseling creative individuals in the motion picture business, Todd honed his own creative skills and mounted his first solo photography show, Crossing Borders. The success of that show led to a second solo show in Los Angeles, showcasing his intimate and affecting images from the Indian subcontinent. Todd is a graduate of the Certificate Program in Photography at The Los Angeles Center of Photography, and his images have appeared in The Los Angeles Times, F-Stop magazine, Shots magazine and Street Photography magazine, among other places. He lives and works in Venice Beach, California.
STATEMENT
While I practice many areas of photography—including reportage, travel, and portraiture—street photography is my true love. By finding the beauty in the ephemeral moment, I can capture life for just a split second and share it with the world.
